The PWC Luncheon Meeting Nov. 4, 2019 kicked off with a presentation by Louise Sullivan from Y-Readers. Her heartfelt testimony outlined the benefits of teaching children to read. Her presentation gave the club perspective on the importance of our donation of books the club members generously gave for the Y Reader organization. For more information or to continue to donate, check out the website at https://www.ymcacharlotte.org/mission/youth-development/academic-success/y-readers In addition, Joan Vafier is our club member contact (email@example.com). She is happy to help direct you to further information about the Y Reader Program.
After the lunch buffet featuring turkey and beef sandwich wraps, orzo salad, fresh fruit and pineapple upside-down cake, we covered monthly business. There was plenty of time for meeting together with other members. The gathering allowed us to discuss upcoming events, opportunities for volunteering, and to meet some new members who have joined us!
We had a “save the date” announcement for the Dec. Holiday PWC Evening Party coming on 12/4/2019 at 6:30 PM.
You may make your reservations NOW with a quick email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This year we will be honoring holiday celebrations from around the globe. In doing so, we would love to display your holiday decorations and/or collectibles from our four selected regions: Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. What a fun way for members to share their heritage and world travels!
If you have decor from any of these areas that you would be kind enough to let us borrow and display, please e-mail Annie Maier or Nicole Sodrick. So that we may plan accordingly, we ask that you please e-mail your participation by November 23rd. We cannot wait to share your beautiful objects and stories!
We look forward to seeing you there!
