Volunteers from our Palisades Women’s Club visit Loaves and Fishes each month packing food boxes for families in need. An assembly line is created which starts with the boxes being taped together, next volunteers add canned meat, peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned fruit, boxed pasta and more as the ever-filling boxes move down the line. The boxes are then sealed and placed on a pallet to be sent to many organizations for distribution. We have been volunteering since September and to date we have packed over 1,100 boxes for families in need. This past Wednesday we spied Larry Sprinkle, a meteorologist from Channel 4 also volunteering. To our delight Larry was kind enough to take a group picture with the Palisades Women’s Club volunteers. It’s then time to relax and enjoy lunch together at some of our favorite spots. We have had delicious lunches and great conversations at Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano’s, Cowfish, Bricktop’s and Little Mama’s.
