Welcome Committee Chair – Job Description

  • Recruit, as necessary, representative(s) from each neighborhood who will welcome new residents to the Palisades Women’s Club (PWC).
  • Maintain inventory of welcome packets; purchase additional materials as needed; and, distribute materials to the neighborhood representatives (reps).
  • Around the middle of each month, send an email to CAMS and First Service HOA requesting a list of home sales from the previous month. Upon receipt, forward this information to the neighborhood reps.
  • Communicate with neighborhood reps monthly between September and May, reminding them to welcome new residents and to provide the addresses of where they have delivered welcome packets to the Welcome Committee chair.
  • Distribute flyers for the “May Walk to Remember” and the “August Social” to the neighborhood reps.
  • Greet new members and guests.
  • Prior to each general meeting, contact the Membership Chair to obtain the name(s) of guests who will be in attendance and send this information to current board members (new duty).
  • Develop and maintain the Welcome Committee budget.
  • Serve as a voting member on the PWC board.
  • May have a co-chair, and when there is one, stand together with one vote on the board.
  • Performs duties described under Article V, Section 3, (“General Executive Board Duties”) and such other duties as may be prescribed in the Bylaws or assigned by the PWC or the Executive Board.
  • The Welcome Committee neighborhood representatives (reps) have the following responsibilities:
  • Monitor their neighborhoods for new residents, and welcome the women to the PWC by delivering Welcome packets to them.
  • Monthly, between September and May, provide the addresses of where they have delivered welcome packets to the Welcome Committee chair.
  • Request additional supplies for the Welcome packets from the Welcome Committee chair.
  • Deliver flyers for the “May Walk to Remember” and the “August Social” to every household mailbox in her community (or to each home where there are community mailboxes).
